Normandale names Jeremy McNamara as Director of Education Pathways

Normandale Community College has named Jeremy McNamara its Director of Education Pathways.

Through this role, McNamara will oversee and manage all aspects of the college’s matriculation to education programs, including SpedUP and Sirtify®. He will also plan, organize, lead, develop, implement, and maintain cohort programs to ensure student success, and collaborate with the division dean and education program faculty to develop secondary-postsecondary college and career pathways in special and elementary education.

“I am very excited to be in this role,” said McNamara. “During my time at Normandale, I have been part of helping students in every part of their academic journey from getting started at the college, to understanding Normandale’s resources and developing success plans, and guiding students through the process to transfer or go into the workforce. This role allows me to use all of those collective experiences to build on the great things that are being done in our education department. Normandale is a leader in the state in education among two-year colleges, and I am looking forward to continuing to build on all of the successes we have in concurrent enrollment, our education courses, SpedUP, and Sirtify®.”

McNamara has inspired and guided Normandale students to successful outcomes for over 14 years. He has been a PSEO (Postsecondary Enrollment Options) Academic Advisor, IREPO (Institutional Resilience and Expanded Postsecondary Opportunity) Project Director/Dual Enrollment Liaison, Student Services Coach, Health Science Program Liaison and an Admissions Representative.

In the academic advisor role, McNamara served as one of the college’s experts in PSEO and Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) for the Advising, Counseling and Career Center department. He was also an assigned advisor for PSEO students, led new PSEO student webinar orientations, and played a big role in outreach initiatives to help at-risk identified students by early-alert warnings.
